Crabapple Fest filled Crabapple Road on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The City of Milton billed it as free, with more than 100 vendors, food trucks, music and a bigger KidZone. Twelve days later, the next new event downtown opens on a Thursday at 4 p.m. Most of the dated events in downtown Milton between now and the end of November follow that same pattern. They fall on weeknights, and they center on the few blocks around Heritage Walk.
Some big weekend events are still coming. But if you're trying to plan your fall in Crabapple, you'll get more out of a Tuesday or Thursday evening than you might expect.
Wanderlust Food Truck Fest brings a new Thursday night
The new event is Wanderlust Food Truck Fest. The Roundabout's Milton events calendar lists its "grand opening," its first Milton date, for Thursday, Oct. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Crabapple Market and Market District Crabapple. The organizer describes a rotating lineup of food trucks, local vendors and community activities. Later dates are Oct. 29, Nov. 12, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10. The City's calendar listing marks it as free to attend. The food itself is for sale.
All five dates fall on Thursdays. The 4 to 8 p.m. window means you can go after work or school pickup, and it runs past dark this time of year.
The listing names Crabapple Market and Market District Crabapple as the location. It doesn't say the trucks will set up on Market District Green specifically, so it's worth checking the event details before you go.
Why Market District Green matters to the new rhythm
Market District Green is the newest space in this part of town. It opened Friday, Aug. 7, with the All Nashville Roadshow, a ticketed country concert capped at 400 people, according to the Alpharetta-Milton Chronicle. The Green sits at the eastern end of the mixed-use development along Heritage Walk, across from Hyde Brewing. Market District Crabapple, at 12655 Birmingham Highway, already has restaurants, a brewery, offices and a yoga studio.
Before August, an event downtown needed a street closure or a pavilion. Now Market District has an open lawn next to a brewery and restaurants, which makes small evening events much easier to put on. Mayor Peyton Jamison called it "an exciting addition to downtown Milton" in the City's announcement.
Plans call for a permanent stage. The City says an office building under development and extensive landscaping will buffer the stage from nearby homes. No construction timeline has been announced. The City's August announcement confirmed that the Milton Farmers Market will hold events on the Green. Beyond that, it said later programming was not finalized.

The bookstore rows are only a sample. Poe & Company has more events on its calendar than everything else in the table combined.
Poe & Company fills the weeknights
Poe & Company Bookstore's events calendar has more weeknight events through November than any other spot downtown. Bestselling author Charles Martin launches "The Reason for Jesus" on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Author and attorney McCracken Poston Jr. comes in on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., for the paperback release of "Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom." Both listings link to Eventbrite pages.
The Oct. 15 author talk overlaps with Wanderlust's first night, a few minutes' walk away. So Crabapple's first Thursday food truck night will also have a book event running at the same time.
The Silent Book Club on Friday, Oct. 16, shows how close together these businesses sit. The bookstore asks readers to stop at Six Bridges next door, get a drink and bring it over to Poe. The first hour is quiet reading, and the last 30 minutes are for talking about your books. It runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Poe's calendar keeps going after that. There's a cookbook club on Oct. 19 and a Literary Dinner on Oct. 20. An ACOTAR release party runs Oct. 26 and 27, and the Killer Reads thriller club meets Oct. 27. In November, a romance book club meets Nov. 2, the general book club Nov. 5 and Write Club Nov. 6. Author Terri Parlato appears Nov. 12, and there's a writing workshop Nov. 14. One Nov. 12 listing for Tara Goedjen takes place at Norcross Library, not in Crabapple. The month ends with the cookbook club on Nov. 16, Killer Reads on Nov. 17, another Silent Book Club on Nov. 20 and a romantasy book club on Nov. 30.
Most of those dates are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Six Bridges: taps open, kitchen closed for now
Six Bridges Crabapple, at 1850 Heritage Walk, has been part of downtown Milton evenings for years. Its food service has been on pause since summer. Spiced Right Ribhouse served its last meal in the Six Bridges kitchen on Monday, July 27, after a four-year run. Six Bridges said it planned a kitchen renovation and a new food tenant. The Roundabout later reported that the kitchen was getting a short renovation for a new food concept. No operator, concept or reopening date had been announced. The Chronicle confirmed in August that the taps were still open.
Until the new kitchen opens, a Thursday food truck night a few minutes' walk from Six Bridges and Hyde Brewing means there's food nearby on at least one night a week.
The weekend events
The weekend events this fall are mostly smaller, one-time gatherings, each with its own reason to go.
Carvin' in Crabapple, Saturday, Oct. 24. This is the biggest family event left this fall. Appen Media reports that the free Halloween event draws hundreds of people every year. It runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at Broadwell Pavilion, 12615 Broadwell Road. Bring your own pumpkin; carving and painting tools are provided. If you want to save the seeds, bring a container or a gallon-size bag. There's also a costume contest with prizes, games, face painting, food trucks and inflatables. The Milton Police Department hosts its trunk-or-treat across the street, and the department is looking for businesses and nonprofits to help hand out candy. One City event page lists "Saturday, October 25" with no year. The City's 2026 annual-events list and Appen Media both say Oct. 24.
Rivers Alive, Sunday, Oct. 18. From 2 to 4 p.m. at Providence Park, volunteers will clear the lake shoreline and stream buffers. Gloves and bags are provided.
Music Milton. The group opens its second season with "Mozart in Milton" on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m. at Birmingham United Methodist Church. Appen Media reports that general tickets for the season's concerts run $40 to $50, student tickets are $10, and ticket purchases include free parking. The Roundabout calendar lists this concert at $40. The free family jazz concert "Just Jazzin' Around" is Sunday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m. at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church. Seating is limited, so you need to RSVP.
Veterans Breakfast, Saturday, Nov. 7. This free breakfast starts at 9 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 2006 Heritage Walk. Seating is limited, so the City asks for an RSVP.
Talked about but not confirmed
Several things being discussed for downtown Milton weren't on any calendar as of early October:
- A skating rink at Market District. The City says Market District was "looking into creating" an outdoor rink starting in November. No operating dates or prices have been published, and the Chronicle reported it hasn't been formally confirmed.
- Farmers market days on the Green. The farmers market is confirmed for the Green, but no 2026 day, hours or end-of-season date had been posted in what we found. Last year's listing ran on Wednesdays through Nov. 19, 2025, so those dates may not apply this year.
- The new Six Bridges kitchen. A new food concept is planned, but no operator or opening date has been named.
- Crabapple Live. The Chronicle says the monthly mini-festival the City co-sponsors is expected back in spring and summer 2027, but that hasn't been formally confirmed either.
For now, the confirmed dates are the Thursday food truck nights on Oct. 15, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12, the bookstore's weeknight events, and Carvin' in Crabapple on Oct. 24.
