"Ten years ago, there was nothing here," Mayor Tommy Allegood told Atlanta News First this summer, talking about the land at the entrance to Logan Farm Park. "It was a big swamp."
Now that stretch of Cherokee Street hosts almost every outdoor weekend left on Acworth's fall calendar. The farmers market, the Halloween JamBOOree, the classic car cruise and Tailgates and Tallboys all happen at 4405 Cherokee Street or right across from it. Those dates run out fast. The market's last Friday is October 30 and its last Saturday is November 14. After that, the calendar spreads out to Cauble Park, the Community Center and the Turkey Chase route before Santa's Arrival in December. Here is how the next few weeks around the park fit together, starting at the front door.
The house at the entrance is still getting ready
The white farmhouse at the park's entrance is the McCray House. Atlanta News First reports it was built around 1851, is one of the few buildings in the area to survive the advance of Gen. William T. Sherman's troops, and originally stood at 4700 Allatoona Gateway. The city moved it to 4415 Cherokee Street for about $1.2 million, paid for from its budget for historic buildings, including SPLOST dollars.
The City of Acworth held a ribbon cutting for the restoration on July 16. At the ceremony the city said Sabrina Kaylor would open Bizarre Coffee in the house "this autumn." It will be the chain's fourth location, under a 10-year lease with five-year renewal options. The renovation is keeping the original flooring and some exterior walls.
In July, the reported target date was October 1. As of mid-October, Bizarre Coffee's Acworth page still says "COMING SOON," with no opening date or hours. If you plan to grab a coffee there on the way to the market, check the shop's page first.
Across Cherokee Street, the block is already open
You don't have to wait on the farmhouse for coffee or a meal near the park. TapTown held its grand opening on May 8 at 4443 Cherokee Street, across from Logan Farm Park. The city describes it as a craft beer spot serving chef-crafted American comfort food. Parallel Coffeehouse works out of the same building and serves coffee and Southern biscuits.
Down the street, Visit Acworth lists 1885 Grill at 4438 Cherokee Street, with Southern Coastal dishes and cocktails. The Art House, in the McConnell House at 4425 Cherokee Street, is the one shop the tourism guide lists under Parkside District shopping.
There's also something new right beside the Art House: one of two Little Free Art Galleries the city put up downtown this summer, where you can leave, take or just look at small pieces of art. The other one is at Depot Park, 4794 S. Main St. If you're bringing kids to JamBOOree, it's an easy extra stop.
Five weeks, one park, and a few other venues
The table starts on Friday, October 23, the first market morning after this post goes up. Logan Farm Park entries are marked so you can see how much of the season happens there.

For two Saturdays in a row, the park hosts a market in the morning and a separate event in the afternoon. Then November 7 is the one Saturday the market takes off, and that's the day Tailgates and Tallboys has the park from noon on.
The two doubled-up Saturdays
October 24. The market wraps up at noon, and Halloween JamBOOree starts at 3 p.m. on the big field by the playground. The listing includes games, food, music and a children's costume contest at 5 p.m. Contest sign-ups open at 4:30 p.m., with up to 13 entries per category. The listing doesn't mention an admission price.
October 31. Same morning market. The Fall Downtown Classic Car Cruise runs from 2 to 7 p.m. Spectators get in free. Visit Acworth says the organizers ask $5 per car to show a vehicle, with proceeds going to Horizon Field. The cruise ends at 7 p.m. on Halloween night, so if you're planning to trick-or-treat, you can head over afterward.
The City of Acworth's market page lists Georgia-grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh bread, pies, cakes, honey and jams. The Acworth Downtown Development Authority sponsors the market. After October 30, the market is Saturdays only, and only three are left:
- Saturday, October 24
- Saturday, October 31
- Saturday, November 14, the last market of 2026
There is no market on November 7.
November 7 belongs to football
Tailgates and Tallboys runs from noon to 7 p.m. at Logan Farm Park, with college football on a big screen plus food and drinks. The listing doesn't mention a cost or registration. Since the market is off that Saturday, the park's whole day goes to this one event.
The night before, Acworth Theatre Company opens Ira Levin's Death Trap at the Rena Henton Theatre in Acworth Roberts School, 4681 School Street. The show starts at 8 p.m. on November 6, and Visit Acworth also lists a November 7 performance. Tickets and the full run are on the Acworth Cultural Arts site. The same group puts on Acworth UnScripted at TapTown on October 26. The event page links to tickets but doesn't list a price.
Mid-November moves to the lake and indoors
After the park's last big weekend, the calendar spreads out. The city's Veterans Day Ceremony is on November 11 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial in Cauble Park. Cauble Park finished Phase 1 of the Lake Acworth Master Plan in March, which added new pavilions, picnic areas and a widened 12-foot trail. If you haven't been down there since then, it looks different.
November 14 is a two-stop morning. The final market runs at the park until noon, and the Acworth Arts Alliance Holiday Gift Shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Acworth Community Center, 4361 Cherokee Street, with handmade work by local artists. Both are on Cherokee Street, so you can park once for both.
The Acworth Turkey Chase is on November 21 and runs through Historic Downtown and along Lake Acworth. The city's event page lists a 5K with online registration and gives a 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. window. You'll need a nonperishable food item to get your race number and T-shirt. Visit Acworth lists it as a 5K and 2K walk from 9 to 10 a.m. Check your start time when you register.
Parking when the park is full
On the doubled-up Saturdays, the main lot at 4405 Cherokee Street fills up first. The city lists two other places to park for Logan Farm Park: 4762 Logan Road and 4733 School Street. Visit Acworth says the Logan Road address is the Parks Operations Office entrance, and parking for the east entrance is on School Street. The School Street side is also the closer walk if you're catching Death Trap at 4681 School Street after an afternoon in the park. Visit Acworth's downtown district page has a map of more than a dozen public parking areas.
After November 21
The next big downtown date is Friday, December 4, when Santa's Arrival starts at 6 p.m. with a tree lighting and free photos. Bring your own camera. Construction is also starting near the park. The city broke ground July 2 on a 100-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott on 3.5 acres within walking distance of the Acworth Community Center. No completion date has been announced.
I live in Woodstock, and I keep an eye on how downtowns like Acworth's change from one season to the next.
